6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher Alex Avila will be the starting catcher for starter Zack Greinke in Monday's road game against the Colorado Rockies. Manager Torey Lovullo said he will look at what to do going forward after Monday's contest. John Ryan Murphy had been the personal catcher for Greinke previous to Monday, but he was designated for assignment after Friday's game. Avila, Carson Kelly and Blake Swihart are all still in a logjam for playing time behind the dish. Right now, Avila remains useful only in NL-only fantasy leagues, as Kelly is considered the favorite for a majority of starts behind the dish.--Daniel Dobish
