5 years agoOakland Athletics left-handed starting pitcher Brett Anderson allowed just one earned run with five hits and four walks while striking out four batters over 6 1/3 innings in a victory Sunday against the Seattle Mariners, improving to 6-3. He threw 69 of his 110 pitches for strikes while throwing first-pitch strikes to 17 of his 26 batters. It was his first quality start in four outings dating back to a blowout win on May 3 in Pittsburgh. However, he has been an innings eater, lasting at least six frames in four of his past five outings. He'll look to build on the momentum in his next scheduled start Saturday opposite RHP Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros.--Daniel Dobish
