Clayton Kershaw Picks Up His Fifth Victory
5 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw allowed three earned runs while scattering 10 hits over six innings in a victory against the New York Mets on Monday. He didn't have his best stuff, throwing first-pitch strikes to 15 of the 26 batters he faced while tossing just 59 of his 95 pitches for strikes. However, he received plenty of support and was able to limit the damage, running his record to 5-0. The Dodgers are a perfect 8-0 when the three-time Cy Young Award winner takes the mound, and L.A. has won each of his past 16 regular-season starts. His next scheduled outing is set for Saturday against Zach Eflin and the visiting Philadelphia Phillies.
