5 years agoSeattle Mariners left-handed starting pitcher Tommy Milone allowed two earned runs, four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings to pick up his first victory of the season in Monday's 6-2 win against the Texas Rangers. He threw 53 of his 80 pitches for strikes, including first-pitch strikes to 17 of the 22 batters he faced. The southpaw has made two starts, both against the Rangers, and he has allowed four earned runs in 10 2/3 innings with 13 strikeouts. He could stick around if he continues to give manager Scott Servais decent numbers. His next scheduled start is set for Saturday evening against the visiting Los Angeles Angels, and he has a favorable matchup against the homer-prone Trevor Cahill.--Daniel Dobish
