5 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Merrill Kelly allowed four earned runs, six hits and a walk with five strikeouts across 6 2/3 innings in a road loss against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday to slip to 4-6. Merrill started the season all right, posting a 3-2 record with a 3.60 ERA through his first six outings, but he is a dismal 1-4 with a 6.57 ERA over 24 2/3 innings across his past five outings. The good news is that he has allowed just one homer over the past three outings, but it's been death by a thousand cuts lately. He is only worth starting in deeper NL-only fantasy play until he starts to pitch with more consistency.--Daniel Dobish
