5 years agoLos Angeles Angels second baseman Tommy La Stella went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 6-4 road victory against the Oakland Athletics. La Stella is slashing .302/.369/.547 through 50 games in what is shaping up to be a breakout season at age 30. He entered the season as a career .258 hitter in 858 at-bats while posting 10 homers and 94 RBI in parts of five MLB seasons. He already has 12 homers and his two RBI give him 33 for the season, surpassing the 31 RBI he had in 93 games during his rookie season in Atlanta back in 2014. La Stella has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners in AL-only leagues and some mixed formats.--Daniel Dobish
