5 years agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Shed Long went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and two walks in Wednesday's 8-7 home loss against the Texas Rangers. Long has hit safely in seven consecutive games, and his multi-hit performance was the first of his career. After failing to score in his first seven major leagues games he has also come across to score three times in the past three outings. He'll continue to see regular playing time with J.P. Crawford (ankle) on the mend, at least until Dee Gordon (wrist) is healthy enough to return.--Daniel Dobish
