5 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers concluded an awful weekend series against the Washington Nationals, going hitless in 11 at-bats with two walks and five strikeouts. Through 227 plate appearances, Myers is registering career-worsts in average (.221) and strikeouts (37 percent). The notoriously streaky 28-year-old has endured more lows than highs in 2019 with 11 homers and eight steals but just a .739 OPS. Expected to help carry an improved Friars offense, Myers has contributed to the team’s underperformance at the dish.
