5 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Matt Strahm struck out nine batters in six frames to collect his third victory Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles. Strahm yielded four earned runs, but the outing was much needed after he had posted a 12.08 ERA over his last three starts. The recent swoon has his ERA sitting at an inflated 4.94 with a 1.23 WHIP. Prior to June, Strahm had been mostly solid. With an 8.6 K/9 and 4.4 K/BB, he’s a playable backend starter or streaming candidate. There’ve been rumors that the left-hander could return to the bullpen upon the activation of starter Dinelson Lamet (elbow), but his next scheduled start is a favorable matchup at home against the San Francisco Giants.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
