Fernando Tatis Jr. Scores On Another Pop Out
5 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. tripled, stole a bag and walked in four plate appearances Monday against the San Francisco Giants. For the second time in a week, Tatis scored from third on a shallow pop out to provide some excitement in the blowout loss. Through 49 games, the 20-year-old is slashing a tremendous .337/.407/.620 with 11 homers, 13 steals and 69 runs-plus-RBI. His three-bagger on Monday was his fifth of the year. While the peripheral data suggests a steep drop-off in Tatis’ production, his constant energy and playmaking abilities on both sides of the diamond make him one of baseball’s most exciting young talents. Keep him rostered in all fantasy formats.
