5 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers expect running back Jerick McKinnon (knee) to be medically cleared by training camp. The 27-year-old McKinnon, who signed a four-year, $30 million deal with the Niners before the 2018 season, missed the entire campaign with a torn ACL. Despite the team’s depth at running back, McKinnon is expected to share the backfield and split the bulk of touches with newly-signed Tevin Coleman. Throughout his four-year career, McKinnon has been a versatile back with the ability to run and catch passes. He recorded 201 touches for 991 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns in 2017 with the Minnesota Vikings.
