5 years agoAccording to a Sports Illustrated insider, San Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida could be the odd man out in 2019’s backfield timeshare. With the signing of Tevin Coleman and the return of Jerick McKinnon (knee), Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan could have the similar one-two punch he enjoyed as the Atlanta Falcon’s offensive coordinator with Coleman and Devonta Freeman. Breida, who proved his toughness by playing through myriad injuries in 2018, racked up 1,075 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns in 180 touches last season. An undrafted third-year player, Breida is likely accustomed to adversity. As RotoBaller’s 40th-ranked running back, Breida could certainly capture a larger share of snaps with a strong training camp and holds better draft value than Coleman (RB29) and McKinnon (RB32).--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
