5 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. homered, walked, drove in two runs and scored twice in five plate appearances Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners. Tatis popped a two-run shot in the fifth inning then later walked and scored to complete his stat-filled day. The 20-year-old rookie continues to show no signs of slowing, slashing .322/.383/.592 with 20 homers, 14 steals and 105 runs-plus-RBI. The five-category fantasy stud is only a handful of at-bats away from qualifying for the batting title, which he’d be tied for fifth. While he’s suffered the occasional defensive gaffe and strikes out too much, Tatis has all the makings of a long-term solution for the success-starved Friars.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
