Chris Paddack Brilliant In Final Start
5 years agoAfter firing five innings of one-run ball on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres starter Chris Paddack’s season is done. Paddack will be shut down for the rest of 2019 after fanning nine brewers and issuing just one hit and a walk. The 23-year-old finishes his rookie campaign with a 9-7 record, 3.33 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 9.8 K/9 across 140 2/3 frames (26 starts). Despite a brief August swoon, Paddack enjoyed a brilliant season, exceeding both performance and endurance concerns after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2017. With an excellent 4.9 strikeout-to-walk ratio, Paddack is slated to headline an exciting Friars rotation in 2020 and will be in the SP2 conversation during fantasy drafts.
