Keke Coutee (WR, HOU) - Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 17% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: When Kenny Stills fell injured in Week 4, Keke Coutee had an opportunity to step up. Coutee could only catch one of three targets for 11 yards but he also added 10 more on the ground in a losing effort. After that, it was a waiting game all week long until Stills was ruled out of Houston's Week 5 game, opening the door for Coutee from the first minute on Sunday. The problem for Coutee, though, was to be found in the beast he has to fight with weekly (DeAndre Hopkins) and an unexpected booming performance (Will Fuller).

All in all, Coutee was targeted four times and hauled in three passes for 72 yards. Coutee also logged the longest reception of the game in his 51-yard one. Even though he had his best game of the year, he still fell short of a great fantasy day with just 10.2 points in PPR leagues.

The most appealing reason to add Coutee? First, Watson can keep throwing the ball for 300+ yards any day. He's averaging 273 per game, so reaching that mark is not out of the equation, and if those yards have to go to someone there aren't many options other than Hopkins, Fuller, and Coutee with Stills out. Second, Houston's schedule looks tasty from a WRs perspective. In Week 6, the Texans will visit KC in the highest O/U game of the slate. Indianapolis' average defense against the pass will be the matchup in two weeks and then two cupcakes (Oakland and Jacksonville) will arrive.

But let's calm down for a second, as getting to Week 10 with Coutee on the roster would be a little bit of a stretch. Coutee is an add-and-wait addition at best. If Stills remains out, then Coutee is a must-add and probably a must-start also against Kansas City this weekend. But once Stills comes back, it would be hard to see Coutee have a solid role in Houston's offense. You can add him and keep him around to see how things develop but once Stills gets in the WR3 slot again feel free to drop him.
