Matt Breida Demonstrating Lunch-Pail Effort
5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida has been the model of blue-collared consistency this season. Breida has amassed double-digit touches in eight of nine contests, converting them into an efficient 5.5 yards per touch. The Niners draw a weak Seattle Seahawks rush defense in Week 10 and Breida remains firmly in the RB3 mix. Although he’s taken a backseat to backfield mate Tevin Coleman, Breida has capitalized on his opportunities, repeatedly flashing big plays. Getting back fullback Kyle Juszczyk (knee) and his starting tackles this week is also a plus. While the upside is capped due to limited goal-line work, Breida’s demonstrated a solid floor to merit starting in all standard formats.
