DeAndre Washington In The RB2 Mix For Championship Weekend
5 years agoOakland Raiders running back Deandre Washington will handle the bulk of backfield touches this weekend with rookie Josh Jacobs ruled out with a shoulder injury. When Washington took over as the starter in Week 14, he went on to receive 20 touches for 96 total yards and a touchdown as the clear-cut No. 1 option in the backfield. His usage is bound to repeat itself in Week 16; the only caveat is the Chargers have defended the run much better recently. Outside of two late touchdowns by Mike Boone last weekend, they haven't allowed a touchdown on the ground since Week 11 or a 100-yard game to an RB since Week 8. Washington's high-volume usage and pass-catching ability will keep him as a midrange RB2 this weekend, but his ceiling is somewhat capped with LA improving on their overall defense.
