5 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert should carry the torch as lead runner in the Divisional Round against the Minnesota Vikings. Although the Niners deploy a rushing committee, Mostert emerged as the most consistent option to end the regular season, logging roughly 50 percent of snaps and dominating touches. After breaking out for 952 scrimmage yards on just 151 touches, the fifth-year back and the Niners stout offensive line draw a formidable Vikings Defense ranked ninth in rush DVOA. While the Vikings excel at short-yardage stops, they’ve scuffled on a play-to-play basis, surrendering 4.59 adjusted line yards per carry (eighth worst). This bodes well for the shifty Mostert, who can find open space in a hurry.
