James Ennis Has Solidified A Role In Orlando
5 years agoOrlando Magic guard James Ennis has solidified a role for himself with the organization, according to head coach Steve Clifford. "The way he plays – shooting the ball and guarding primary scorers – really solidified our team," Clifford said. He was traded to Orlando around the trade deadline from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for a draft pick. Jonathan Isaac went down for the Magic and they desperately needed someone to fill the forward minutes. Ennis stepped in and averaged 7.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.0 treys during his last nine games with the Magic. He was playing an average of 25.1 minutes per game with Orlando. However, there likely won't be as much playing time for Ennis once Isaac returns to the court. Ennis might have found a decent role in Orlando, but he'll likely only have deep league value going forward.
