4 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Matt Shoemaker pitched well in his 2020 debut, but his offense didn't provide much support in the 4-1 loss to the Rays. The right-hander surrendered one run on three hits over six innings, while striking out four and walking a pair in the no-decision. Shoemaker's season ended abruptly in 2019 after he made just five starts, but he did hold an excellent 1.57 ERA at the time of his injury. Health has always eluded the 33-year-old, but he's displayed admirable results when he does stay on the field. Shoemaker will look to build off his strong start to the season in next week's matchup versus the Nationals.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
