4 years agoNew England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton was unsurprisingly named starter earlier this week. The 31-year-old has battled injuries the last couple of seasons, but appears to be healthy now. Newton doesn't have great weapons in New England, but should be able to produce as a QB2. He'll have high-end upside as possibly a QB1, assuming he can stay healthy. His first matchup will be against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. He'll get a favorable matchup here as the Dolphins allowed the second most fantasy points to quarterbacks last year. There's always the risk of injury with Newton, so fantasy owners should approach with caution. On paper, Newton is a high-end QB2 for Week 1 against Miami.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
