4 years agoBoston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez is not among the club’s starting nine for Wednesday’s contest versus Baltimore, ceding way to Kevin Plawecki behind the dish. Vazquez has plated runs in four of his last six appearances, having compiled a 1.040 OPS in that span. After a breakout offensive performance in 2019, Vazquez has posted similar metrics this year, which bodes well for his fantasy stock heading into 2021. He remains one of the premier catchers in season-long formats, with his next chance to rejoin the lineup coming Thursday versus Orioles righty Alex Cobb, whom he is 9-for-12 against in his career.--Jesse Borek
