4 years agoOakland Athletics right-handed pitcher Frankie Montas looked the part of a top-tier starter through his first four starts in 2020. But since then, he has fallen off the wagon in terms of performance, compiling a 10.88 ERA with 10 homers allowed in 24 innings. With just three games constituting the 0pening round of the playoffs, Oakland can likely tab Mike Fiers, Jesus Luzardo and Sean Manaea for starting duties. With a potential advancement, Montas may come back into the mix, although he’ll need to take a significant step forward, with the possibility of still starting prior to the completion of the regular season on the table.--Jesse Borek
