4 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder/designated hitter Jorge Soler (oblique) and right-handed pitcher Greg Holland (oblique) were both placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Friday’s contest against Detroit, ending their respective 2020 campaigns. Soler played in 43 games and was unable to reclaim his epic power display from 2019, finishing the year with eight home runs and a .769 OPS. Holland reclaimed his past top end form, posting a 1.91 ERA across 28 appearances with six saves. He’s set to become a free agent at season’s end, but he’s also the most logical option to continue closing games for the club come ‘21, giving him considerable fantasy appeal. Scott Barlow can be expected to close over the final weekend, while multiple bats may slot into Soler’s spot in the order.--Jesse Borek
