4 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel will have plenty to prove heading into the 2021 season. Gurriel struggled mightily last season after a breakout campaign in 2019, posting only a .658 OPS through 211 at-bats in a shortened season. His diminished fantasy returns was a huge disappointment after slashing .298/.343/.541 in 2019 with 31 home runs, 40 doubles and 104 runs batted in during a full 2019 season. So can Gurriel be trusted this season? The 36-year-old should be counted on to raise his batting average back around the .270-level after posting a dismal .235 BABIP last season. Gurriel is a solid bet to post 30-plus doubles but the power numbers he posted in '19 could elude him as an aging veteran.--Joey C - RotoBaller
