4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner dominated the Angels on Thursday afternoon, allowing only one hit while striking out six in two innings to earn the win. Of the six strikeouts, four were swinging strikeouts as he threw 20 of 33 pitches for strikes. Another positive sign from this outing was his increased velocity, as his fastball sat around 90-91 miles per hour after recording an average velocity of 88.4 mph in 2020. It's only the first outing of the spring for Bumgarner so it's hard to draw any solid conclusions just yet, but if he keeps up this level of success throughout March, managers should consider drafting him as a late-round lottery ticket.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
