Tanner Roark Dazzles In Second Spring Start
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Tanner Roark had a solid start on Thursday as he pitched three innings of scoreless baseball while allowing one hit and striking out three in a 10-6 win against the Detroit Tigers. Sure, the great start was against the lowly Tigers, but he also had a solid start against the Phillies on Saturday and has yet to allow a run through his first five innings pitched while striking out four. Roark has changed his delivery this spring and is working more from the stretch, which could be a reason for the solid results. While the great start to the spring is nice, Roark posted a 6.80 ERA and 1.74 WHIP across 47 2/3 innings pitched in 2020 and likely should not be trusted heading into 2021. He has a current ADP hovering around the 700 mark and should likely only be considered in streaming situations for 2021.
