4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Steven Brault (back) will be shut down from throwing for a month and could be out as long as 10 weeks with a "moderate" lat strain, Kevin Gorman of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said that Brault left his start on Friday after experiencing tightness in his arm due to a moderate strain of the latissimus dorsi muscle in his back. Brault's absence opens up a rotation spot that could be filled by either Wil Crowe or Trevor Cahill. Of the two, Crowe likely has the better potential in fantasy, but he should be looked at either in deep-mixed leagues or NL-only formats.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
