4 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (heel) is scheduled to receive an at-bat as a pinch-hitter on Wednesday night, MLB.com's Maria I. Guardado reports. Belt has missed all of Spring Training so far as he recovered from off-season heel surgery, as well as bouts with COVID-19 and mononucleosis. If he's healthy, Belt looks to be in prime position to build off a career-year in 2020, where he slashed .309/.425/.591 with career bests in strikeout rate (20.1%) and walk rate (16.8%). He's pushing to be ready for the start of the season, and whether he is or isn't ready for Opening Day, he will be a solid late-round corner infield option with great upside.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
