4 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles designated second baseman Yolmer Sanchez for assignment on Saturday. The move occurred to make room for Adam Plutko, who the team traded for in exchange for cash considerations. The 28-year-old is a former Gold Glove winner who was expected to be the O's starting second baseman. Sanchez could remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers, but he would have little fantasy value if that were to happen. General manager Mike Elias said Sunday that Ramos Urias and Pat Valaika are the leading contenders to play second base for the O's.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
