4 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Shane Bieber struck out 12 batters in six innings of work in a 3-2 Opening Day loss to the Tigers. Bieber took the loss but recorded a quality start in the outing, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over six innings. All five hits Bieber allowed came in the first two innings, as he allowed just two walks and no runs over his final four innings of the day. The loss stings, but even that can't take away from Bieber's dominant outing. There's a reason he was the number nine overall player going in drafts, and his 12 strikeouts are exactly why.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
