4 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman/outfielder Ryan Mountcastle continued to strike out at the plate in Monday's 0-7 loss to the Yankees, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. The 24-year-old now has seven strikeouts to go with a .125 batting average over the first four games of the season. This is obviously a small sample size, but Mountcastle did post solid numbers in 2020, so the high strikeout numbers are worth keeping an eye on. He should be given plenty of opportunity to play himself out of this slump given that the O's are still in rebuild mode and fellow outfield Austin Hays just landed on the injured list.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
