Kevin Gausman Perseveres Through Rough Start Tuesday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Kevin Gausman hit his first bump in the road in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Reds, allowing four runs in the first inning. However, he was able to right the ship afterwards, pitching six innings of five-run ball on four hits (including two home runs) and two walks with seven strikeouts. It was Gausman's first poor start of the season, but the fact that he could keep it together for six innings and still give his team a chance to win was impressive. The Giants ace will take his 3.20 ERA and 24.3% strikeout rate on the road against the Phillies in his next start, where he will look to bounce back.
