Chicago Bears Trade Up For Justin Fields
4 years agoWith the No. 11 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have traded up with the New York Giants and selected Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. Fields has been one of the top two quarterbacks in this class since high school, but dropped in the lead up to the draft, eventually winding up as the fourth quarterback taken. Considering Fields ended his college career with a 68.4 completion percentage — including a 70.2 percent mark last year — with 67 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and 19 rushing touchdowns, the drop out of the top 10 was a little confusing. He'll initially compete with Andy Dalton for the starting role, but it shouldn't take Fields too long to grab the starting role for the Bears. He's a fringe dynasty QB1 option and a solid re-draft QB2 if he's able to claim the starting role immediately due to his accuracy and his ability to create when things break down.
