Vikings Take Receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette
4 years agoWith the 157th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have drafted Iowa wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette. Smith-Marsette caught 25 passes for 345 yards last season. His best college season was in 2019, when he caught 44 passes for 722 yards and five touchdowns. Iowa isn't a program known for producing wide receivers, but Smith-Marsette's speed makes him someone who can stretch NFL defenses and make big plays. The question is if he can make plays anywhere else on the field. Minnesota could use a home-run threat though, so Smith-Marsette has a chance to make this roster and see the field some this season.
