Alex Wood's Strong Start Wasted Tuesday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Wood turned in another strong start in Tuesday's Game 2 8-6 loss to the Rockies. Wood appeared to be in line for another win, pitching five innings of two-run ball on four hits (including a two-run home run) and two walks with two strikeouts. However, the Giants bullpen had a complete meltdown in the seventh inning to blow a four-run lead and lose the game. Wood has been fantastic so far this season and now has a 3-0 record with a 1.96 ERA, His next matchup should be a favorable one against the Rangers at home. It looks like Wood may end up being a surprise higher-end fantasy starter for this season.
