4 years agoSan Francisco Giants closer Jake McGee had an awful outing in Tuesday's Game 2 8-6 loss to the Rockies. McGee entered the game to pitch the seventh inning up by four runs. He got the first out, allowed a single, got the second out via strikeout, but then allowed a single, a two-RBI double, and another RBI single before being removed from the game. McGee was replaced by Camilio Doval, who eventually allowed McGee's final runner to score. His final stat line was 2/3 innings pitched with four runs on four hits and no walks with a strikeout. The outing was very uncharacteristic of McGee, who has been a reliable closer throughout the season. His ERA has now ballooned to 5.54, but fantasy managers should look at his larger body of work before getting scared by one poor outing.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
