Jake McGee Earns Clean Save Tuesday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants closer Jake McGee picked up his 11th save of the season in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Reds. McGee entered to pitch the ninth inning up by two and recorded a 1-2-3 inning with no strikeouts. The veteran has performed well as the team's closer overall to this point, converting 11 of 13 saves with a 12.54 K/9 rate. However, he has stumbled at times and owns a bloated 4.82 ERA. Teammate Tyler Rogers has been seeing more save opportunities lately and has been the Giants' best reliever, so McGee's ninth-inning role may not be as secure as it was. However, both players could hold fantasy value as long as they continue to see save opportunities.
