4 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Triston McKenzie will be recalled to the team and make the start on Wednesday against the Tigers, according to Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com. McKenzie was optioned to Triple-A on Saturday after a poor performance against the Twins the night before, and now he returns to Cleveland after the news broke that Zach Plesac will be placed on the injured list with a broken right thumb on Wednesday. Hoynes reports that McKenzie will only make the one start on Wednesday night before being returned to Triple-A. McKenzie has struggled this season with a 6.89 ERA and 44:30 K:BB ratio over 31 1/3 innings of work. However, he could be worth taking a look at as a potential streaming option against Detroit, as he allowed one run over six innings while striking out 10 in his major league debut against the Tigers in 2020.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
