3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday after exiting Monday's contest early. Mondesi had gone 2-for-3 with a home run on Monday against the Pirates before being removed with what was described as a "little tweak" in his hamstring. Given the fact that Mondesi missed the first month and a half of the season due to an oblique strain, it makes sense that the team would opt to take things cautiously with him — assuming that his absence is only as a precaution. Managers should continue to monitor his situation closely, but for now Nicky Lopez will get the start at shortstop against Pittsburgh and bat ninth in the lineup.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
