LaMonte Wade Jr. Hits Leadoff Homer Sunday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman/outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. had another nice day at the plate in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Cubs, going 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks, and two strikeouts. Wade Jr. got the game started for the Giants by taking a Kyle Hendricks fastball to the opposite field just over the left-center wall. Wade Jr. has done well at the plate while filling in for Brandon Belt (oblique), slashing .270/.386/.541 with three HR and five RBI. It remains to be seen what his role with the team will be once Belt returns, but Wade Jr. could find himself still with the team due to various other injuries if he continues to hit.
