3 years agoWashington Nationals pitcher Austin Voth (face) will likely miss a lengthy amount of time after being hit in the face by a pitch on Sunday, according to Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post. Manager Dave Martinez said that Voth's surgery went well, but Voth's left eye is almost completely swollen shut and will require some time to heal. Martinez adds that there is no timetable for Voth's return, and that it will be some time before a timetable can be established. Voth was having a great year on the mound, going 2-0 with a 2.93 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings of work. In most formats, Voth can be safely dropped for now given the injury plus his primary usage as a reliever.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
