3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader (ribs) will be out a while longer while dealing with a hairline fracture in his rib, according to Zachary Silver of MLB.com. Manager Mike Shildt said that Bader was "going to be a bit longer than we anticipated," adding that Bader is still not feeling well enough from the rib fracture to ramp up baseball activities, and that the longer it takes him to start back up, the longer his rehab will be. Bader has been out since May 26 after suffering a fractured rib while making a diving catch against the White Sox. Over 22 games this season, Bader was slashing .219/.301/.411 with four home runs, three steals, nine RBI and eight runs scored. Managers can go ahead and continue to stash him on the IL, but if you're facing a roster crunch, Bader is a safe option to drop in most formats.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
