Dellin Betances Has Begun Rehab Assignment
3 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Dellin Betances (shoulder) has begun a rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Betances has appeared in only one game this season back on April 7, and has been out since then with a right shoulder impingement. It's been a rough go for Betances over the past three seasons, as he has pitched a grand total of 13 1/3 innings and has allowed 12 hits, 13 walks and 11 runs with 14 strikeouts over that span. It's been quite the drop off for Betances, who was one of the more dominant relievers in the league for quite some time. Managers can keep an eye on his rehab and see if there's any potential left in his arm, but in all likelihood the only value he'll have this year is in deep SV/HLD formats.
