3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman John Nogowski was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday for cash considerations, the team announced on Twitter. With Colin Moran and Erik Gonzalez both on the 10-day injured list now, the Pirates acquired some much needed depth at first base in Nogowski. He probably doesn't have any value in fantasy right now though, as he is 1-for-18 with two runs scored over 19 games this season. Nogowski and Wilmer Difo will likely split time at first until Moran or Gonzalez return. In a corresponding move, the Pirates designated relief pitcher Geoff Hartlieb for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
