CJ Abrams Out For Season With Leg Fracture
3 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop CJ Abrams (leg) suffered a sprained MCL and a fractured left tibia during a collision at second base on Wednesday, and will miss the remainder of the 2021 season, according to AJ Cassavell of MLB.com. The Padres' top prospect and No. 8 overall according to MLB Pipeline, Abrams was having a nice season at Double-A San Antonio, where he was slashing .296/.363/.420 with two home runs, 13 steals, 23 RBI and 26 runs scored over 42 games. It would have been a stretch for Abrams to crack the Padres' roster this season, but managers in dynasty leagues should look to stash him as he could get called up sometime in 2022.
