3 years agoChicago Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner will rest on Tuesday versus the Philadelphia Phillies. Hoerner was activated from the 10-day injured list on Sunday and started at second base on Sunday and Monday. Hoerner is the Cubs starting second baseman, but the club is giving him a maintenance day to keep him fresh. Hoerner is hitting .329 with nine RBI and three stolen bases this season and is worth a look for managers seeking infield help or an improvement in the batting average department. Hoerner will be replaced by infielder Sergio Alcantara on Tuesday. Alcantara will bat eighth and can be avoided in a tough matchup versus Aaron Nola this evening.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
