Yasmani Grandal Expected To Miss 4-6 Weeks
3 years agoChicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (knee) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a torn tendon in his left knee and is expected to miss four to six weeks. Grandal exited Friday's contest early with the injury and was replaced by backup catcher Zack Collins over the weekend. The veteran tried to tough it out and start on Monday, but he ended up exiting early. Collins is expected to make most of the starts with Grandal sidelined. Collins is hitting .225 with three home runs and 19 RBI on the season, but he is worth keeping an eye on for now. Catcher Seby Zavala has been promoted to replace Grandal on the roster. Zavala was hitting .178 with five home runs and 15 RBI for Triple-A Charlotte and can remain on the waiver wire in all formats.
