3 years agoHouston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman (quad) is getting close to beginning a rehab assignment, according to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle. Bregman said that he is "nearing" a minor league rehab assignment, and that he believes he could be joining the Triple-A Sugar Land Skeeters for their upcoming road trip this week to face the Albuquerque Isotopes. Bregman has been out for several weeks with a strained left quad, which was the latest in several injuries that have limited him to 59 games this season. But when he's healthy, he's put up good numbers at the plate by slashing .275/.359/.428 with seven homers, one steal, 34 RBI and 37 runs scored this season.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
