Luis Castillo Strikes Out Six, Walks Six
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Luis Castillo turned in a decent outing in his final start of the first half, allowing one run over 5 1/3 innings of work. He struck out six and walked six in the start while taking a no-decision. As evidenced by his six walks, Castillo struggled with his control in this one, throwing just 55 of 102 pitches for strikes. The veteran hurler got off to a horrid start to the season but he came on strong over his past seven starts, posting a 2.03 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 43 strikeouts in 44 1/3 innings over that span. Castillo will hope to keep his recent success going after the conclusion of the All-Star break.
